James Tan is an Associate Consultant with HRM3 Asia. He has over 20 years experience as practitioner, consultant and trainer in Human Resource Management and Training & Development for both Singapore companies and foreign multi-national companies from Europe and USA. He has worked with a range of businesses including shipyard, motor-vehicle assembly & distribution, furniture manufacturing and sales, lumbering, tobacco manufacturing & distribution, agribusiness, battery manufacture & distribution, and various electronics industries like semiconductors and disc drives.
A MBA graduate from the Golden Gate University of San Francisco and a certified trainer in Zenger Miller Frontline Leadership Program, problem solving and decision-making, apart from lecturing on Human Resource Management and General Management in diploma, bachelor and master degree courses in Singapore and China, James has also trained in many supervisory and managerial skills courses.
With clients that include the likes of Caltex Singapore, Singapore Airlines, Samsung Singapore, Economic Development Board, Ministry of Manpower, Housing & Development Board, Singapore Human Resources Institute, Hubei University of Technology and Zhongnan University of Economics & Law, he has conducted various training programs like Strategic Management, Coaching Employees for Optimal Performance, Performance Appraisal etc.
James’ 29 years experience as a Human Resource practitioner in various large foreign multinational corporations includes his most recent appointment as the Director of Human Resources at Seagate Technology International and the Vice-President for Human Resource in the Sinar Mas Group, Indonesia’s second largest business conglomerate. His professional background enables him to share his rich and varied working experience in his training workshops and was consulted by large organizations in Singapore to enhance the effectiveness of their human resource function and their strategic management.
